Thursday's Quick Tips

In this Thursday's Quick Tips my focus was on Kool Aid.

Turns out the drink we give our children in its raw form will clean just about anything.

It can be used to clean the dishwasher. Just put a package in the detergent section and run a cycle. (I would suggest the lemonade flavor as opposed to one of the flavors with a stronger dye color.)

It can be used to clean a toilet. Pour a package in the bowl. Use a brush to swish around. Leave it for about 10 minutes then flush.

You can also use Kool Aid as a dye. It is a safe dye for Easter eggs. You can also add it to paint.

One of my favorite dye uses is to create finger paint for children. Use plain yogurt and add different colors of Kool Aid. Your kids will love it and it won't hurt them if they eat it!!!

  2. Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am now following you as well.

  3. Great Tip Jess! Thanks for your kind comment on my latest project. I tried to respond by email, but you are a "no-reply" blogger. You can fix that in your settings. I missed your first link party, but I'll catch it next week for sure!

  5. Following you back via GFC. Wow I never knew Kool Aid did all that. Soda grosses me out because it can clean a battery and now I am a little grossed out by Kool Aid too. It just makes me think if it can do all that what is it doing inside my body? Thanks for the info!

  6. We just painted with Kool-Aid for our letter K practice. We just added water to it (and also did it another time by sprinkling it on glue) but we have never tried the yogurt mixture. Great idea! Just started following you back via GFC!
