TURN IF OFF!
The new update (iOS 9) for iPhones was released recently. There are many updates that are wonderful but one has the potential to run your monthly rate through the roof.
WiFi Assist
In theory "WiFi Assist" is a novel idea but for many us that don't have unlimited data plans it can quickly cause substantial charges.
How does it work?
This feature is activated by default on the new iOS9 version. It is meant to increase efficiency when browsing the web. If the device finds your wifi signal weak it will jump to cellular data usage, which can result in charges.How to turn off Wifi Assist?
Easy...- Choose the Settings options from home screen.
- Select Cellular.
- Scroll to the bottom and deactivate Wifi Assist.
SETTINGS > CELLULAR > WIFI ASSIST
